Moving the library collections

The library building will be renovated starting in summer 2019. Before this Open Science Centre has to reorganize all of its library collections in the main library as well as in Mattilanniemi and Ylistönrinne campus libraries, which might cause some disturbances.

Information about the location and accessibility of books and journals will be updated daily in JYKDOK, so make sure to check availability before rushing to bookshelves.

During and after the renovation the library’s spaces will be smaller than before and therefore getting books and copies of articles from other libraries’ collections as well as using electronic collections will become even more essential in getting access to resources.

For example, if the needed journal cannot be found in OSC’s collections, a student or a staff member of JYU can check in JYKDOK if it’s available in The National Repository Library’s collection and order a copy of an article (PDF) free to one’s own email address.

Like always, OSC is willing to help JYU students and staff find needed information and facilitates access to information also during this period of transition.
