The University Library services move to Mattilanniemi and Ylistönrinne during renovation

The services of the Jyväskylä University Library are moved to Mattilanniemi and Ylistönrinne during the renovation of the library building. From 8 April, library services will be available in the campus libraries of MaA and Ylistönrinne. The main library will close on 17 April and open again in autumn 2021.

Most of the library services, including printed coursebooks, journals and reading room materials, will be moved to the Mattilanniemi campus library (Ahlmaninkatu 2, building MaA, map).

Another library service desk will be opened in the Ylistönrinne campus library (Survontie 9, Ylistönrinne, rakennus YK, map) during the renovation. The Ylistönrinne library will store mostly general research literature.

Moving schedule

  • Week 10: Journals are moved to MaA
  • Fri 5 April: The customer service desk of the University Library is closed
  • Mon 8 April: The customer service desks of the MaA and Ylistönrinne libraries are opened
  • Wed 17 April: The University Library building is closed from customers.

Working facilities will be available in the campus libraries and the Aalto Library of the Main Building (Seminaarinkatu 15, yliopiston päärakennus C, map). The working facilities will be smaller but otherwise the library services will remain the same during the renovation.

The renovation and moving do not affect the availability of materials, even though their location will change. You can check the location of books and journals from JYKDOK.
